About…..

Diane Kazakis is an Australian artist with a diverse background in art and art education spanning several continents. From Australia to Europe, Africa, the Middle East, and now Asia, she has drawn inspiration from her diverse experiences to inspire an appreciation and concern for the fragile world around us.

Her extensive exhibition history includes both solo and group shows, and her work can be found in public and private collections worldwide.

Diane has been featured in various publications, including representation in "The 50 Artists to Watch in 2023", the "Collectors Art Prize" and "Circle Quarterly Art Review Magazine". In 1994, Diane was the youngest artist to receive first prize in the Andor Meszaros Sculpture Prize, and in 2001, she won the acquisitive Moreland Sculpture Award.

Diane's artistic practice skillfully depicts texture, light, shadow, and form, drawing from her background in sculpture to create tactile and diverse pieces. She often incorporates recycled materials, layers, and overlapping segments to add depth and capture movement. Captivated by the ebb and flow of nature, Diane explores mediums that have an altered appearance when viewed from different angles. Through delicate layers of paint, ink, paper, wood, and other materials, she captures the ethereal beauty of organic forms, while suggesting the fleeting nature of life itself.

“I believe in using art to inspire appreciation for nature's beauty and tranquility. Through my art, I aim to evoke a sense of wonder and reverence for the natural world, encouraging viewers to contemplate their own relationship with the passage of time. My goal is to capture the essence of the natural world and convey it through my art, inviting viewers to see beauty in unexpected places and appreciate the fleeting moments that make up our lives.
