Inspired by the movement and translucency of water and jellyfish, this watercolour is painted on a circular format allowing the colours to mix and blend naturally. Details were then added by hand with coloured pencil and metallic ink.

Allowing the watercolour to move naturally on the surface, this watercolour is painted on a circular format allowing the colours to mix and blend naturally. Details of flowers were then added by hand with metallic ink.

All 3 wooden cubes are 15x15x15cm each.

My idea was that they fit together to make connecting triptych images but are also interchangeable with the extra sides as well….kind of like having many artworks in one!

I trained in sculpture but also love painting, drawing and mixed media, so this is one way that I can explore all of those to create work with a presence.

I have used very earthy, muted colours in pencil, oil, acrylic, ink, gesso, photo transfer and metallic pen to capture a wing, a female form emerging from the earth, fossils, sky, cells, water…. expressing our connection to nature and dependence on it. Also representing one’s growth and coming to life…taking flight

Inspired by mythology, this work suggests the fall of Icarus with a wing in a dramatic sky.

Translucent, wispy clouds move across the wooden panel and create a striking effect. Viewing the painting from different angles, the clouds appear and disappear on the glowing sky of bronze leaf.

Created with oil paint, transfer on canvas board, bronze leaf and pencil on a wooden panel, the subtle colours of bronze and stormy greys create an atmospheric effect.

From a series of work looking at microscopic images and natural formations.

Drawn to the sculptural forms of cells, representing these details on segments of hand-made Japanese paper with floral patterns printed in silver. Bronze leaf surrounds the raised drawing inside the box frame to capture light and draw the eye to the metallic details in the work.

From different angles the work changes as light reflects off the various metallic surfaces and areas.
